The Company:

The company is an iron ore project (the “Company”) located in Sierra Leone and is a fully owned subsidiary of a leading private global commodity trading group (the “Group”).

Role and purpose:

To fabricate, fit, and assemble the structural components of various mechanical systems in the Process Plant, we are seeking to hire a motivated and skilled Plant Mechanic. The chosen candidate will be in charge of maintaining precise records of all maintenance work performed, fixing broken mechanical systems, and smoothing off any rough edges on the manufactured components with grinders, hand files, and scrapers. The person must be able to work cooperatively on significant projects with other Fitters.

Responsibilities:                     

• Inspect worksite to determine presence of obstructions and ascertain any weaknesses
• Plan installation or repair work, avoiding obstructions
• Cut, thread, and bend pipe
• Install and assemble a variety of metal and non-metal pipes, tubes, and fittings
• Connect pipes
• Secure pipes to structure
• Install and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment
• Increase pressure in pipe system, observing connected pressure gauge, to test for leaks in the system
• Observe production machines to detect machinery malfunction.

Required Credentials and Expertise:

• 2 to 3 years of relevant experience
